Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, an multi-talented actress, director, producer, educator, playwright and director of drama in St. Thomas University. Her father comes from Britain as does her mother, who is the "Turkish English-Cypriot expat." Anna's first memories of attending rehearsals for play and watching her mother's her job. Anna was a part of numerous commercials in her early years. Anna relocated to Toronto, Ontario, in order to pursue acting. Over the years that followed, she eventually relocated to Los Angeles. They renewed their vows in an Jewish ceremony in Fredericton on April 11, 2011 after Anna's conversion to Judaism.
