Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's father, was first seen on stage in the role of Flora McGrath. For this role, she won the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second youngest recipient in Oscar the history of Oscars. After responding to a call to auditions open at age nine years old, with no prior experience acting when she was selected for the role of Flora McGrath role. Flora is the daughter of an Scottish pianist who was mute. The couple relocated into New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to arrange a marriage. Following her move into the United States, she became a teenager. Paquin had a small part as the title character when she was still a kid as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and an important role in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a smaller character. She portrayed teens as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
