Reese Witherspoon's acting career began to grow after she attended Stanford University. The first time she was recognized for her work, it was with roles in films such as Pleasantville and Election but it was her role as Elle Woods in the box office smash Legally Blonde that marked a turning point in her career. Witherspoon was awarded the Academy Award in the year 2005 for Walk the Line. Water for Elephants This Means War was among the latest films she appeared in. The film also earned her another Oscar nomination. Witherspoon had a great time in her roles as the TV actor and producer on David E. Kelley's awarding-winning TV Series Big Little Lies. Witherspoon, was born Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon in New Orleans Louisiana on March 22 the 22nd of March, 1976. The parents of Witherspoon are a medical doctor as well as a registered nurse. The actress grew up in Nashville, Tennessee as the first student at her school as well as Harpeth Hall. In the year 1991, Witherspoon responded to a newspaper advertisement for extras on a whim. At just 14 years old, Witherspoon landed the lead role in her very first feature film The Man in the Moon. In 2003 she debuted as a film star as a lead actress in The Invisible Man. Her TV career started with House of Lies Whitney. In addition to her acting work, she has appeared in films such as The Dictator or The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. In addition to her acting work, she's an experienced painter who has shown her work in several galleries.
